The Ultimate Vegan Chocolate Crackles Recipe for Chocolate Lovers

If you're a vegan with a sweet tooth, you don't have to miss out on delicious chocolate treats. This vegan chocolate crackles recipe is the perfect solution. Made with vegan-friendly ingredients, these chocolatey delights are sure to satisfy your cravings.

Gather your ingredients.

Before you start making your vegan chocolate crackles, make sure you have all the necessary ingredients. You will need 2 cups of rice bubbles, 3/4 cup of desiccated coconut, 1/4 cup of malt sugar, 1/2 cup of Velicious chocolate powder, 1 tablespoon vegan butter, 75ml condensed milk and pinch of salt. You can also add in some vegan chocolate chips or chopped nuts for extra flavour and texture. Once you have all your ingredients, you're ready to start making your delicious vegan chocolate crackles.

Mix all the ingredients.

Add all the ingredients to a large mixing bowl and mix thoroughly with a spatula. The mixture will appear too dry at first. This is normal and there is no need to add any more liquid. 

Spoon the mixture into cupcake liners.

Once well-mixed (no lumps of butter), roll the rice into balls. We used a large ice cream scoop for serving size. Pressing firmly to hold its shape and place into muffin tray lined with cupcake liners, or a vessel of your choice. Make sure to press the mixture down firmly into the liners or tin to ensure that they hold their shape. Once you’ve spooned the mixture into the liners, chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving. This will allow the chocolate to set and create a delicious, crunchy texture.

Let the crackles set in the fridge.

After spooning the mixture into cupcake liners or a greased muffin tin, it’s important to let the vegan chocolate crackles set in the fridge for at least an hour. This will allow the chocolate to harden and create a satisfying crunch when you take a bite. If you’re in a hurry, you can also place the crackles in the freezer for 15-20 minutes to speed up the process. Once they’re set, you can enjoy these delicious vegan treats as a snack or dessert. 

Recipe

Serving: 10 large balls 

Ingredients 

2 cups fresh puffed rice 

¾ cup desiccated coconut 

½ cup Velicious Chocolate powder 

¼ cup malt powder 

1 tablespoon vegan butter 

75ml vegan condensed milk 

Pinch of salt 

1 fridge 

How to make it 

  1. Add all ingredients (except the fridge) into large mixing bowl. 
  2. Mix thoroughly with a spatula. The mixture will appear too dry at first. This is normal and there is no need to add any more liquid. 
  3. As you continue to mix and press the rice together (you can be rough with it), the malt will start to get sticky from the butter and condensed milk. 
  4. Once well-mixed (no lumps of butter), roll the rice into balls. We used a large ice cream scoop for serving size. Pressing firmly to hold its shape and place into muffin tray, or a vessel of your choice. 
  5. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set. 
  6. Once set, hide them from anyone else and enjoy in secret.
